What We Offer

Labor Relations For Human Resources Practitioners

This 2-day training course is designed to provide participants with the foundational competencies needed to effectively operate in the federal labor relations system. Participants will gain an understanding of who the major players are (e.g., FLRA, FSIP, FMCS), how the unfair labor practice process works and effective strategies to address charges and complaints.  Course topics also include an overview of the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute; employee, union, and management rights; Weingarten meetings; formal discussions; and practical collective bargaining strategies and practices.

Labor Relations for Managers and Supervisors

This 1-2 day training course is designed to provide participants with the foundational competencies needed to effectively operate in organizations where employees are represented by unions and provide supervisors the skills to supervise bargaining unit employees consistent with the labor relations statute and collective bargaining agreement. Participants will gain an understanding of the labor relations statute, the rights of employees, unions and management, and how the negotiated grievance procedure and unfair labor practice processes work. Course topics also include management’s responsibilities in meetings with employees (e.g., Weingarten meetings and formal discussions) and when making workplace changes.

How to Negotiate Collective Bargaining Agreements

This 3–4-day course provides participants with comprehensive, hands-on training on the  strategies and processes for negotiating collective bargaining  agreements.  In this ever-evolving federal labor relations environment, the course will ensure participants gain an understanding of the rights of the parties, problematic contract provisions, impasse and negotiability proceedings.  Course topics will also include, bargaining team selection and development, developing collective bargaining agreement negotiation timelines, proposal development, bargaining practices (e.g., position or interest-based bargaining) and contract implementation and administration.
